I work at SteelSeries as a Senior Art Director in our creative department, creating advertising concepts for new products, organizing photoshoots, and as a graphic designer of adverts, banners, packaging, web content, etc.
Here are some of the best stuff I have been responsible for in 2013.
It's cold at the top.
Promotion for Frost Blue products bundle. This was my first big assignment when I began to work at Steelseries in february.I was responsible for concept development, project management of the preproduction, photoshoot and postproduction.
Concept: Placing the Frost Blue products (headset, mouse, mousepad) inside giant icecubes in front of swedish pro gamers team Ninjas In Pyjamas (The worlds leading Counter-Strike team) in an icey setting. Pretty simple.
But in reality it was not that simple. The ice had to be real. It could easily look fake if it wasn't.
So we got an icesculptor to bring ice blocks and tools to the photoshoot, and we had the NIP team flown in from Sweden. Thankfully 100 kg ice blocks don't melt very fast.

Bring The Heat!
Promotion for Heat Orange products bundle.
Concept: Continuing the concept that was started in the Frost Blue advert, this time placing the Heat Orange products inside a vulcanic scenario in front of the NIP guys.
How the lava stone effect was made is actually pretty simple, but that is my little secret :-)

Flux Headset Campaign - Design Your Own Headset...
Promoting the Flux headset and the online costumisation tool (Flux Configurator) that allows costumers to chose colors on the various parts of their headset.
Concept: Showing how the different color schemes of the Flux can fit into various fantastic scenarios. And at the same time tell a story that relates to different gaming genres; Shooters, Strategy, Multiplayer, racing, fight games.
I photoshopped all these scenarios from scratch, using textures, photo cut-outs, etc. I also took some photos of a military helmet, ammonition and palmleaves for the Jungle Warfare concept.
The only stuff that is rendered as CGI images are the headsets. The rest is photoshop magic :-)

H - Series Headsets Campaign
Promote the H-Series headsets (9H, 5Hv3, 3Hv2).
Concept: Sound is very important to progamers, so we focused on the experience and the many details that a headset will pick up during a game; Footsteps, team members speak, gunfire, approaching enemy missiles and so on...We used real progamers wearing our headsets and I photoshopped the background.
I photoshopped all these scenarios from scratch, using textures, photos, cut outs, etc. Nothing is CGI.
The only thing that was shot on film are the gamers wearing the headsets.
